The NC Court of Appeals sides with Asheville developer Stewart Coleman in a controversial land sale.
The court says the sale of property adjacent to Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville to Coleman was legal. The ruling overturns a lower court's decision that said Buncombe County Commissioners did not have the right to sell the land.
Descendants of George Pack sued to stop the deal saying the land was donated to the county with the intent that it be used as a public space. And they won. But Coleman appealed that ruling.
