A couple is in the Spartanburg County jail after sheriff's deputies were called to their Greer home for domestic violence. Amy Coleman and Jeffrey Booker of 712 Moore Street Extension were arrested Tuesday night. Officers say Booker attempted to choke Coleman, who fought him off with a sword. The couple have 2 children, ages 2 and 3 who lived in the home.
Sheriff's deputies say they found the inside of the trailer covered with roaches. In addition, there were piles of clothes with mold on them. Some neighbors say they were surprised by the couple's living conditions. Another neighbor says this is a bad neighborhood, and was disgusted to hear about the couple's dirty home.
The children are now in protective custody. Booker & Coleman both face neglect charges, while Booker is also charged with domestic violence. Tony Ivey of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Dept. urges anyone who suspects something suspicious going on with their neighbors to call law enforcement.
