Gas Necessity

The current gas situation in the mountains is frustrating to almost everyone, but for some people who need to get to their medical appointments, it can be a life or death situation. Local officials say they're trying to help people like David Burrell, who has to travel from Henderson County to Asheville for chemotherapy.

Hendersonville mayor Greg Newman says the word from state officials is things will get better next week. But for Burrell, waiting isn't an option since he has to make the trip to Mission Hospital on Monday. He says his wife is running low on gas, but he'll find another way there if he has to. His wife, Maggie, says David will ride his horse all the way to Asheville if need be, and that he's done it before.
