Possible Retrial in Child Sex Case? (09/29/08) A Henderson County man convicted in 1994 of sexually abusing his children, is now seeking a new trial. Michael Parker got 8 consecutive life sentences after his children told stories of abuse and ritualistic ceremonies. Asheville attorney, Sean Devereux says he now plans to file a motion seeking a new trial based on new evidence in the case. That includes the recent arrest of Misty Parker Yedero, who's charged with filing a false police report. She was one of the children who made the claims against her father 14 years ago. A detective says Yedero's false report is very similar to allegations she made during Parker's trial. The District Attorney says no motion has been filed yet and he has no comment on a possible retrial.
