Polk County House Fire
A couple answered what they first thought was the doorbell, and found out their house was on fire.
The doorbell sound was actually the smoke alarm, and the front entrance was burning.
Bill Bivona grabbed his garden hose and tried to extinguish the blaze, but the fire quickly spread into the roof.
Firefighters contained the blaze, but the home was heavily damaged.
Investigators say contractors repainting the doorway may have sparked the fire.
The investigation continues.
