Bobcats Exhibition In Asheville, SOCON Tipoff, US Mid-Am, Player of Week (10-8-13)

The NBA Charlotte Bobcats ended their weeklong training camp in Asheville with an exhibition game with the Atlanta Hawks at the U.S. Cellular Center. Over 45 hundred fans watched Atlanta edge Charlotte 87-85.


College basketball also a story in Asheville as the Southern Conference Tipoff was held at the Biltmore Estates.


The U-S Women's Mid Amateur Golf Championship continuing at Biltmore Forest Country Club. Both local golfers, Brenda Kuehn and Debbie Adams were eliminated. The quarterfinals and semifinals set for Wednesday with the championship match on Thursday.
