Matsakis Leaves, Enka Confident, Reynolds Rolls (3-21-13)
Updated: Monday, March 25 2013, 07:34 AM EDT
Enka High School is looking for a new football coach. Manny Matsakis resigned Thursday to take a head coaching job for a division two college in Kansas. He was at Enka 3 years and was 13-23.
Enka's girls soccer team is off to a great start, 8-1-2, and 4-1 in the conference. The Sugar Jets win over Asheville Wednesday gives them a game and a half lead in the MCA 3A. Coach Matt Kinnaird attributes their success to talent and lots of heart.
Reynolds shuts out visiting Fred T. Foard 4-0 behind two Zoe Lewis goals.
