Pisgah Girls, Tuscola Boys Clinch, Prep Wrestling Playoffs, Cook Signs With WCU. (2-12-13)

Two Haywood County schools clinch prep hoop titles Tuesday night. The Pigah girls and Tuscola boys team captured their respective WNCAC  championships. Pisgah beat Brevard for their first outright conference title since 2009. Tuscola beat Franklin in overtime for their first championship since 1981.


Wrestling dual team playoffs began Tuesday. Enka was the only area school hosting one of the four team pods. The Jets couldn't use the home mats to their advantage. They lost to Ashbrook, West Henderson beat Erwin in the other match. Ashbrook then advanced by whipping West 33-27.


Hailey Cook of Hendersonville signs to play volleyball and track at Western Carolina. Cook with 10 state titles in track in shot and discus and was a leader on Hendersonville's state volleyball championship team.
