Simmons Feature, Prep Playoffs, Warren Wilson In Title Game (3-1-13)

Former Smoky Mountain star basketball player Jackson Simkmons now plays at North Carolina--he went from walkon to scholarship player and says he is just living a dream. He always wanted to be a Tar Heel.


Ten mountain prep basketball teams in sectional finals. Four advance from the WNCAC and Hendersonville boys moved on from the Smoky Mountain Conference as did the Cherokee girls team.


Warren Wilson College plays for the national championship in U.S. College Athletic Association division two . The Owls beat Penn State Beaver in the semis,68-46. Warren Wilson plays Penn State Fayette for the title Saturday at 8:45 pm in Uniontown, Pa.
