Tourists Double Up Shorebirds in Double Header, Parker and Gaines Win Skyview Golf, Erwin Football 7-on-7 Preview (7-11-13)

Mother Nature finally allowed the Asheville Tourists to play baseball at McCormick Field.  The Tourists play to the home crowd, beat the Delmarva Shorebirds 3-2 and 5-2. 

Many of the best golfers in the area braved the wet conditions to play in the final round of the Skyview Open at Asheville Municipal Golf Course.  David Gaines from Christ School wins the Amateur Division and Greg Parker wins the Pro Division for his fifth career Skyview title.

Erwin High School will host the U.S. Army Warrior 7-on-7 Football Tournament on Saturday, July 13th.  13 teams will participate with the first game starting at 9:00am.  The single elimination portion of the tournament will begin at 1:45pm.
