UNCA Loses at Buzzer, WCU Wins, UNCA Baseball Splits Doubleheader (2-23-13)

Jeremy Atkinson scores 29 points for UNC Asheville, but it was not enough as the Bulldogs fall to Jacksonville State, 71-69. Jacksonville State's Ronnie Boggs tips in a shot at the buzzer to give the Gamecocks the victory. UNC Asheville will play again on Wednesday against Presbyterian.
Brandon Boggs scores 26 points as Western Carolina beats Coastal Carolina 80-70. James Sinclair chips in with 17 points, helping the Catamounts go on a 24-4 run in the first half. WCU improves to 8-8 in Southern Conference play. Western Carolina plays Chattanooga on Thursday.
The UNCA Baseball team splits a doubleheader with Canisius. The Golden Griffins win the first game, 4-2. Then the Bulldogs win the second game, 6-4. UNCA will play again Sunday against Canisius.
