Updated: Tuesday, March 5 2013, 09:02 AM EST
About 100 people showed up at Warren Wilson College to welcome home the USCAA Division II National Champion Men's Basketball team.  The Owls beat Penn State Fayette on Saturday night for the title.  Warren Wilson entered the tournament as the #9 seed out of ten teams, but the Owls finish the tournament as the #1 team.

Several prep basketball teams will play in the Regional Playoffs this week.  On Tuesday, the Smoky Mountain boys will play against Shelby and the Cherokee girls will take on North Wilkes.  On Wednesday, the Pisgah girls will battle with Bandys.  The Franklin girls face Tuscola on Thursday.  On Friday, the Hendersonville boys play East Surry.  All of these games will be in Greensboro.

The #15 North Carolina Women's Basketball team loses to #5 Duke 65-58.  Duke Freshman, Alexis Jones scored a season-high 22 points to lead all players.  The Blue Devils win their ACC record 17th regular season league victory.
