Western Carolina lost its fourth straight game when Davidson beat them 73-59. The Cats got 16 points from Tawaski King and Trey Sumler in the loss.


UNCA women fall at home to Charleston Southern 54-58 to stay winless in the league at 0-12. Freshman Paige Love recorded the first double-double of her career, scoring a team-best 14 points and pulling down a game-high 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs.


Western Carolina's baseball team picked 2nd by SOCON coaches in the preseason poll. Elon chosen to win it all. Defending champs App State was slotted in the 6th spot.
