Brevard - The Brevard Blue Devils in 2016 looked a lot like the strong teams of years gone by when Brevard was a prep power. The Blue Devils went 10-3 and made it to the second round of the state playoffs. This was their best record in ten years. That team was led by their terrific quarterback Tanner Ellenberger, but he is one of many players from last year's squad who graduated.

Brevard coach Craig Pritchett knows his team lost a lot but feels the makeup of his squad will help offset some of that. He also is excited about Mitchell Johnson at quarterback. He also says having three receivers over 6 feet will help their passing offense. Brevard also has both starting offensive tackles back and starting linebackers on a solid defense returning.

Brevard opens its season at home against Mountain Heritage August 18.
