Erwin girls win 48th straight conference game
Leicester - Erwin's first year girls head coach Matt Carpenter is picking up right where legendary coach Terry Gossett left off---winning MAC games. Thursday night, Carpenter led Erwin to its 48th straight conference win, 73-45 over visiting West Henderson. Erwin led most of the way, paced by freshman Briah Frisbee with 16 pointsand Amber Redmond scores 15. Erwin is now 5-0 in Western Mountain Athletic Conference 3A and 6-2 overall, while West drops to 1-3 and 1-7.
In the boys game, West Henderson edged out the Warriors 53-47. The visiting Falcons got 13 points from sophomore Ben Bryson and jumped out to an early lead. The Warriors rally behind Rashod Chaffin who scored 15 but it wasn't enought as West Henderson gets it's first MAC win and are 1-3, while Erwin drops to 2-3 and 4-3 overall. West Henderson evens its overall record at 4-4.
