Marion - The McDowell Titans think 2017 season could be a good one for them. The Titans are coming off a 5-7 record in coach Andy Morgan 's first year and expect better results in year two. One reason for the optimism the Titans had 9 sophomore starters last year who are a year older and played well in their baptism under fire in 2016. McDowell has running back J.C. Olivo and quarterback Adam Randolph returning. They have their defensive backfield coming back and three starters on the defensive line. Coach Morgan also says this is a team that runs well and gets to the ball which also has him excited.

Another reason McDowell fans are looking forward to the new season---they are in a new conference. The Titans are out of the MAC and back to the Northwestern 4A. The Titans get to play the teams that were rivals for years before they made the move to the MAC.

McDowell opens its season on Friday August 17 on the road at R.S. Central.
