Tourists win again thanks to 18 strikeouts by pitchers and 9 runs from the offense

ASHEVILLE, NC -- The Tourists won for the sixth time in their past seven games on Thursday night by defeating the Hickory Crawdads 9-4.

Alejandro Requena had a season high 10 strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. The T's relief pitchers added eight more strikeouts for a grand total of 18 for the game.

Asheville scored in five different innings on Thursday night, including a three-run 5th inning.

The Tourists improve to 13-8 in the second half of the season and are 1.5 games behind Charleston for first place.

Asheville and Hickory will play again on Friday night at 7:05pm.
