UNC Asheville women's basketball team earns berth to NCAA Tournament

LYNCHBURG, VA -- Bronaza Fitzgerald made two free throws with five seconds to play to give UNC Asheville a 48-47 victory over Radford in the Big South Tournament championship game.

The Bulldogs earn their second straight berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Khalia Webb led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Chatori Major chipped in with ten points.

Asheville became the first seventh-seed to win the title and the first team to win four games in four days to win the championship.

The UNC Asheville Athletic Department will host a watch party at the Mountain Room at the Sherrill Center Monday at 7:00pm. Players, coaches and fans can watch the Selection Show to find out the opponent and location for the NCAA Tournament first round game.
