Storm Clean Up
Workers were busy Thursday cleaning up after Wednesday's wild weather that resulted in heavy rain, high winds and flash flooding. The storm dumped several inches of rain in a short period of time causing many streams and drainage pipes to overflow. That's what caused street flooding in Biltmore Village that left a number of motorists stranded.
The storm water receded late Wednesday but workers were left to clean up all the mud and debris it left behind. People who work in the Biltmore Village area say they've seen it get bad like this only a few other times. The water got so high, police closed off a portion of Brook Street and Sweeten Creek Road after several drivers got stuck in the flooded street.
