Icy Roads To Blame For Wrecks
Road conditions are quickly taking a turn for the worse in a number of mountain counties. There have been so many wrecks that emergency crews are struggling just to keep up.
There have been dozens of wrecks, including a car that ran off reeves cove road and landed in a creek on its side. The driver walked away unhurt. On Smoky Park Highway, a head-on crash sent several people to the hospital.
NCDOT road crews have been salting the roads and interstates all day, but salt is no match for black ice.
The NCDOT is urging motorists to stay off the roads.
