Cops: Parents Gave Teens Liquor
The crash was horrific. Six teens were injured, many critically, when their car, reportedly going 80 miles-an-hour on a winding country road, slammed into a tree.
The driver, 19-year-old Taylor Townsend, later admitted driving drunk when the wreck happened. Now the mystery surrounding where the teens got two bottles of vodka might be solved.
Court records show state alcohol agents charged 16-year-old Amber Benge, her mom, 41-year-old Jeanenne Benge, and 36-year-old Melissa Stackable with supplying the liquor.
Amber was injured in the crash and spent several days at Mission Hospital. Stackable's son Brandon was also in the car. He is now paralyzed from the crash.
Investigators used surveillance video from the Marion ABC Store to bolster their case.
Reached by phone, Stackable denied the allegations. The Benges could not be reach for comment.
