Child Abuse Arrest
There is new information about a local attorney charged with child abuse.
According to court papers, William Shilling’s wife says he threatened to kill her and their son, and burn their house down. He’s charged with child abuse and communicating threats.
Shilling’s wife says he got into an argument with their son over math Thursday morning at their home in Franklin, and that's when he punched the boy in the stomach. He denies the charges and says they are baseless and exaggerated.
He works for the Department of Social Services, which says it's looking into the allegations. Shilling had been released on bond under the condition he did not contact his family. He's now been re-arrested for violating those terms and will spend 48 hours in jail.
