Hendersonville Fatal Wreck

Troopers say a driver wrecked his car, and left the scene with his passenger's body still inside.
It happened Sunday morning on Highway 25 near Tuxedo. Troopers charged Angel Diaz with felony hit and run and D.W.I. in the death of Luiz Ruiz.
They say Diaz lost control of his car and slid sideways into a guardrail, an accident that killed his passenger. He then headed north, ten miles in the badly wrecked Toyota Camry, stopping on I-26 near the Upward Road overpass. Diaz fled the scene.
Trooper J.A. Nix discovered the car with the body inside. Deputies found Diaz in a friend's car, and Trooper Nix arrested him. "We had reason to believe he had been in that vehicle based on physical evidence on him, with glass and other things, and some minor injuries," says Trooper Nix.
Diaz had his first court appearance Monday morning. He's under $400,000 bond. His next court appearance is July 15th.
