'Count the Cans' Food Drive
A friendly competition means fewer people going hungry in the mountains.
Accounting firm Dixson Hughes Goodman partnered with Manna Food Bank last month for the 3rd annual Count the Cans Food Drive. The firm challenged each of its offices in the southeast to collect money and non-perishable food for their community.
The Asheville office gathered more than 14,000 cans and other food items to give to MANNA. "Asheville has been really successful in our partnership with MANNA Food Bank for the last 3 years, we've had another great year this year and and were really excited about what we've done," says Regional Marketing Coordinator, Anna Buys.
Mike Crawford, manager from the Asheville office, was crowned the local "Coconut King." His employees collected more food than any other office.
