LPC Retro Triathlon
Dozens of triathletes suit-up for the third Annual Leila Patterson Center Tri in Fletcher.
Yesterday's race qualifies as one of ten retro-triathlons across the country.
The local course has been chosen for the USA Triathlon series in the southeast region.
The retro-theme means racers get to have a little fun by donning some 70's-and-80's inspired gear.
Daphne Kirkwood, race organizer, "a lot of people are really worried and skeptical about doing a "tri" because its swimming, biking and running and putting it all together really is a lot so having a retro theme really makes it fun and lets people have a good time."
Organizers say this triathlon is a great way to start out if you're new to the sport. That's mainly because of the relatively short course and mild conditions.
