Pirate Artifact Display
After nearly 300 years at the bottom of the ocean some of the secrets of Blackbeard are seeing the light of day here in Asheville.
The NC Department of Cultural Resources Western Office is hosting the Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge Adventure until July 13.
The traveling exhibit includes artifacts that conservators have raised and preserved from the sunken shipwreck.
You will see basic supplies like utensils and straight pins, along with cannonballs and pieces of gold on display.
The exhibit is open Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m, and there are a couple of special events tied to the tour.
On June 25 an ECU Conservator will be here to share how they uncover the artifacts.
It is at 6:30 p.m. and you will need a reservation because space is limited. (828-296-7230)
The tour wraps up with a special Second Saturday event on July 13.
