Shredded Barbeque Beef

1 boneless 4 pound roast
2 tablespoons cooking oil
2 large onions - chopped
1 cup ketchup
1 cup beef broth
2/3 Cup chili sauce
1/4 Cup cider vinegar
1/4 Cup brown sugar
3 tablespoon Worcestershire
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons molasses
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon pepper

  1. In crock-pot brown all sides of mean in oil.
  2. In large saucepan saut onions until tender, add all remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Pour over roast in crock-pot and cook all day until meat is very tender.
  4. Remove and shred with 2 forks removing all fat, and return to sauce in crock pot.
  5. Serve on hamburger buns.
