Injured Worker Concerned
A DOT contract worker injured at work remains in Mission Hospital's ICU, but his wife is worried he may now lose his job.
Randy Self works for Little J's Tree Service.
He was seriously injured Thursday when a tree he was cutting down fell on him in Henderson County.
He has seven broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
It happened on Sugarloaf Road as workers cut trees along the shoulder.
News 13 spoke to his wife Saturday, she is worried about her husband and the fact the business owner doesn't have workman's comp insurance.
Christa Self, husband injured at work, "its Little J's Tree Service and he's not wanted to pay the bills I have from co-workers that Randy does not have a job there that he's not paying not of this up here."
Randy has worked for Little J's Tree Service for several years and had an accident years ago where the owner refused to pay hospital bills.
We spoke with owner James Camp, he gave the following quote: "I don't talk to you about no employee."
When asked about covering hospital bills for his injured workers he said quote: "I don't care about that. Just watch what you say. I have nothing else to say to you."
