Disaster Relief Training
Local volunteers spent Saturday morning preparing for a disaster.
The North Carolina Baptist Men-and-Women Disaster Relief organization trained more than 400 people at the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville.
Volunteers showed new recruits how to use supplies they would have at a disaster site.
Some of the training included how to prepare-and-serve thousands of hot meals, setting-up shower and laundry facilities, and operating heavy equipment.
North Carolina Baptist Men-and-Women is a non-profit organization that holds five training events a year across the state.
Right now, some of the group's volunteers are assisting tornado victims in Oklahoma.
