Paula Deen Controversy
Celebrity cook Paula Deen is issuing apologies for her admitted use of the N-word in her past. She faces a discrimination lawsuit from a former employee, and The Food Network is cancelling her TV show.
She has a restaurant inside Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel and Casino. Some guests are aware of the scandal and say any abusive language toward another race shouldn't be tolerated.
One guest says the controversy was on her mind when deciding where to eat. Shannon Hill says, “I actually had a choice today to eat there or the lobby cafe and I chose the lobby cafe.” But Hill thinks cancelling Deen's TV show may be too harsh and she should have more time to apologize and redeem herself.
Caesar’s Entertainment, which owns Harrah’s says it rejects any use of racial epithets and will continue monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, Paula Deen's restaurant in Cherokee remains open.
