Brevard Fourth of July Fest
Wet weather literally rained on or rained out parades and parties across the mountains Thursday.
But on Brevard's Main Street - the festival went forward.
From the beginning, organizers told the approximately 125 vendors that the event would be held on July 4 rain or shine.
Today it rained, and all but 25 tents were set up.
Some vendors came from as far as Florida - selling food and crafts - ready for business with waterproof tents and rain jackets.
Debra Keoguh stood underneath the Smoky Mountain Smoothies tent during a downpour.
"I was teeter-tottering," said Keough who's just started her vending business. "Especially being new in the business, [I came] just to get my feet wet - and they are very wet today."
In past years anywhere from 12,000 to 15,000 visitors walked the festival, this year organizers say they're hoping for about 3,000.
