Asheville Road Repairs

A storm runoff issue in Asheville deals with road damage and drivers who have been trying to get around it. The city wants people to pay attention to signs and barricades and is taking steps to make sure that happens.

A 4th of July mudslide moved large slabs of asphalt, uprooted trees and nearly took-out a home below. Now it has an already narrow Bent Tree Road down to one lane, an awfully tight squeeze for some of the vehicles that come through.

In spots where some drivers were not playing it safe, concrete barriers have replaced the cones.

The City of Asheville is warning drivers to not drive around barricades on roads, including Skyview Road, Sunset Drive, Spooks Branch Road, Bent Tree and Finalee Avenue.
