Waynesville Store Robberies

Waynesville police hope surveillance video helps them solve two thefts at two big box stores.

Police say three people seen in surveillance photos worked as a team. They walked away with $6,000 in computers and electronics from Best Buy early last month.  And later, investigators say a man used a hammer and screwdriver he took from the hardware section of Walmart to rip off $4,000 in cash from registers.

According to Police, this isn't the first Walmart he's targeted. Lt. Chris Chandler says, It happened 7 times in Alabama within the last month and one time in Dalton, Georgia like in November of 2011.  Same suspect same vehicle.

Police say the suspect left in a blue or black Chevy SUV. And they say they've identified one of the two women in the Best Buy robbery but haven't released her name yet. Call Waynesville police at 828-456-5363 if you have any information.
