Charges Filed In Deadly Fletcher Crash
A 17-year-old is now facing charges after a wreck that killed a man in Fletcher. Austin Reynolds is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and exceeding a safe speed.
Police say Reynolds hit a car being driver by 50-year-old Ervin Gregg. Gregg was leaving work from the Wilsonart Plant Monday morning.
Family members put up a memorial at the scene and are waiting for answers from Fletcher Police. They remember a man who worked hard for his 15-year-old son, Nicholas, and his parents. The family is accepting donations to help Nicholas Gregg. They can be made in an account in his name at any State Employees Credit Union office.
The Fletcher Fire Department, Henderson County Rescue Squad and the North Carolina Highway Patrol assisted the police department in the initial response and investigation at the scene.
Bond for Reynolds is set at $50,000. His initial court date is set for September 5th.
