Remembering JC Stroble
An Upstate icon known for calling out customer orders at one of the nation's oldest drive-ins has died. JC Stroble died Monday night at 71-years-old. Stroble worked at the Beacon Restaurant in Spartanburg since he was 14. He greeted guests and shouted their orders to the kitchen in his signature style. Despite being legally blind due to glaucoma, he never let his disability slow him down. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
