Student Arrest Investigation
An Enka High School senior says an officer used excessive force when she was ordered off her school bus.
17-year-old Caroline Jones shows News 13's Sherrill Barber bruises she received when she says the student resource officer grabbed her and threw her to the ground. She says she was handcuffed and received other bruises on her arms and wrists.
Warrants show she was shouting profanities at school officials and the deputy. Jones is charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a public officer. She says she was just trying to leave when told she couldn't ride the bus. She admits she jerked her arm away from the officer and tried to get away from him when he hurt her. But sheriff's deputies say repeated attempts to escape and shouting at an officer is resisting arrest.
Deputy Wallace has no restrictions and is on duty as the SRO for Enka High School.
Caroline Jones has her first court appearance November 5th.
