Governor Talks Business
Governor Pat McCrory spoke with business leaders in Jackson County Thursday. He met with them at the Jarrett House in Dillsboro. He emphasized his commitment to reforming state government and making it more efficient.
Since tourism is a key to revenues in our western mountains, he's promising more streamlined efforts. He's also working on a 25 year infrastructure plan that could impact bringing the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad train back to Dillsboro.
"And I've said that plan would involve rail and roads, airports and ports. And we'll see which plan fits into the long term strategy for North Carolina. We're definitely going to consider this railroad," said McCrory.
The governor also says current travel and tourism signs are not good and need to be improved.
