Unemployment Check Deposit Concerns
People receiving unemployment benefits tell News 13 they haven't received a deposit in their bank accounts.
Unemployment checks are usually posted on Monday if recipients complete their weekly certification on Sunday. That didn't happen yesterday because of a computer glitch. Recipients normally receive their deposits within 48 hours of completing their weekly certification.
A spokesman for the Division of Employment Security says staff members noticed the problem Sunday night. Larry Parkers says on Monday night the agency authorized payments to 38,000 recipients through Wells Fargo and other contractors. He says the checks should be posted in peoples accounts by the end of the day Tuesday.
Anyone who doesn't receive a check should call the Division of Employment Security Call Center at 888-737-0259.
