A week full of world-class action comes to an end at the Nantahala Outdoor center.
Sunday was the final day of the 2013 ICF Canoe Freestyle World Championships.
For the past week, competitors from around the globe showcased their freestyle kayaking skills on the Nantahala River.
Local organizers say the competition was an overall success, with Swain County coming out as the big winner.
Charles Conner, Nantahala Outdoor Center, "we want to show people that Western North Carolina and especially our neck of the woods is as good as any outdoor sports destination in the country."
The Nantahala River will be featured again on Fox Sports.
It's estimated nearly 85 million people will tune in for coverage of the competition.
