Dogs Rescued From Home

Seven dogs were rescued from a South Asheville home Wednesday evening.

Tuesday Asheville Police received a call that two emaciated dogs were seen running from 59 Whispering Pines Drive.
The next day Animal Services Officers arrived on scene and after unsuccessfully attempting to contact the homeowner, obtained a warrant to raid the home.

Officers captured two dogs outside and went in to find five malnourished dogs and one dead.

Seven animals were taken to the Buncombe County Animal Shelter - all malnourished and being treated for dermatitis.

A neighbor said homeowner Timothy Fox hadn't been seen on the property in at least a week. She had only ever seen one dog outside the residence, which appeared to be well cared for.

The investigation is ongoing, Asheville Police did not say Thursday whether the homeowner had been reached, or whether charges could come.
