School Mold Problem

Asheville City School officials say they may remove mobile units after learning they were contaminated with mold. School officials closed the William Randolph Alternative Program Tuesday, and cancelled school today for about 50 students.

The students will return to school Monday in classrooms at Asheville Middle and Asheville High. The school system is leasing the modular buildings and may ask the owners to remove them.

Interim Superintendent, Dr. Bobbie Short, says students and teachers had reported respiratory problems. She says doctors will be available Monday to check students and teachers.
