Interview with Congressman Mark Meadows
Mountain Congressman Mark Meadows sparked a lot of debate among his constituents when he voted against ending the shutdown. He sat down with News 13's Larry Blunt to explain why, and also answer some of the questions that our viewers posted on our Facebook page.

Western North Carolina's other congressman, Republican Patrick McHenry voted for ending the shutdown. In a statement McHenry said, "it was a tough call to vote for it, but the best choice given the limited options and a severely divided Washington."
The government shutdown has renewed focus on whether Americans' disapprove of congress. And we asked you to take part in a nationwide survey.
The question, "would you like to fire your members of Congress because of goverment gridlock?" 88% said yes, 10% said no and 2% said "I don't know." More than 22,000 viewers from our sister stations across the country voted.
