Soldier's Body Returns
The body of a mountain soldier who died overseas is welcomed home Tuesday with a moving tribute.
News 13 has confirmed that 22-year-old army specialist Jason Shelton died in a training accident in Germany.
The plane carrying his body landed at Greenville-Spartanburg Airport around 9:20 p.m. The casket taken off the plane as members of his family and the Honor Guard out of Ft. Jackson Columbia, SC waited on the tarmac. The Honor Guard took possession of the body and placed it in a hearse. A large motorcade escorted his body home to Madison County.
Visitation is Thursday and his funeral is Friday.
