Preparing Roads for Winter
That arctic blast of cold is here. Flurries have been falling for more than a hour in some of the higher elevations, and that has crews the Madison County salt barn busy.
Workers spent the morning loading their trucks. They will be working around the clock treating roads so drivers will have an easier time with the evening commute.
While mid-November may seem early for snow, workers at this yard near Sams Gap say they are used to it.
The Department of Roads urges people to be extremely careful on the bridges and overpasses as they tend to ice up first.
