New Clemson President
Clemson University has a new president Monday after a vote by the Board of Trustees. Jim Clements will leave his post as the president of West Virginia University to take the job at Clemson. Clements is a distinguished scholar in computer science and an accomplished administrator. The new president says he is sad to leave West Virginia, but excited to be part of the Clemson family.
Outgoing president Jim Barker announced his plans to retire in April, but has stayed on until the board found his replacement.
Clements is expected to take over in January.
