Child Sex Crimes Arrests
Three men have been arrested and charged with various felonies and misdemeanors after a year long investigation by the Transylvania County Sheriffs Office into an incident involving a 14-year-old girl.
Adam Craig Spillman, 24 of Rutherfordton has been charged with felony participating in prostitution of a minor, felony statutory rape and felony statutory sex offense.
Kolbie Keith Patterson, 23, of Pisgah Forest has been charged with statutory rape, felony statutory sex offense and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Joshua Bryant Kalmback, 22, of Brevard has been charged with felony participating in prostitution of a minor, felony statutory rape, felony statutory sex offense and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Sheriffs Investigators began an extensive in-depth investigation after a social media post was discovered involving a fourteen year old girl.
The Transylvania County Sheriffs Office is a member of the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The Sheriffs Office was assisted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and Rutherford County Sheriffs Office, also members of the ICAC Task Force.
The investigation began in April of 2012 and concluded in October of 2013 with the arrest of the following individuals.
The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation and the Internet Crimes Against Children offers training, computer equipment, supplies and assistance to agencies to participating agencies to assist them in their investigations.
