Boys Rob Store After Watching TV Show
Marion Police say two teenagers robbed Christian Clothing Store after watching the Discovery Channel television show "I Almost Got Away With It." One reportedly also told police the pair robbed a clerk at knifepoint because they "were bored."
Edwin Guerrero and Joe Jeremia Umana, both 18, were released from jail in October after being convicted of common law robbery and sentenced to 30 months of supervised probation. They had been behind bars since the April 24 incident.
Guerrero and Umana walked into the Marion thrift store wearing bandanas over their faces and demanded cash from clerk Jennifer Jolly. When she wouldn't open the register, one began poking her with the tip of a butcher knife. She handed over $100 from the register. The boys were caught by authorities approximately one hour later.
Victim Jennifer Jolly says the boys apologized to her in court.
