Brian Jones Appears In Court

The Buncombe County man accused of killing his wife appears in court Thursday morning. Brian Jones faces first degree murder charges in the death of Lynn Jones.

The judge told him if convicted, he could face death or life in prison.  Wednesday afternoon, Lynn Jones younger daughter went to her mother's home in Fletcher. She found her mother's body wrapped in a tarp in the back bedroom. She and her older sister hadn't seen their mother in two weeks.

Deputies launched a search for brian jones. He was found in Henderson County and arrested.

Lynn Jones older daughter talked to News 13 about the sentence Brian Jones should receive if he's convicted. Ashley Warden says he deserves the death penalty. She says Brian used her mother's phone to mislead family members into thinking she was alive, returning texts as if they were being sent by Lynn.

Jones is being held without bond in the Buncombe County Jail. His next court appearance is December 23rd.
