Warrants: Accused Killers Used Craigslist
Search warrants reveal accused killers used Craigslist to discover their victim. The search warrants say the victim responded to an ad for some kind of " assistance."
Tim Radford picked up Christopher Johnson and Christina Guffey and brought them back to his home in East Asheville. Warrants show Johnson shot the victim in his residence. Johnson and Guffey then stole the victims truck and later ditched it on Azalea Road. Warrants indicate the pair also took Radford's rifle, wallet and cellphone. Radford's body was found in his home on November 13th by his brother.
Detectives were able to track down the murder suspects after discovering a receipt from a hotel room rental at the Days Inn on Tunnel Road. The pair was arrested at another hotel, the Rodeway Inn, November 14th.
Guffey first told investigators she shot Radford, but warrants reveal it was later discovered Johnson fired the fatal shot. Both are charged with 1st degree murder.
Radford's family tells News 13 that he was a Christian man who was likely trying to help Guffey and Johnson, based on the Craigslist ad.
