Video Records Canton Goodwill Robber

Police are searching for a woman caught on camera robbing the Goodwill in Canton at gunpoint about 6 p.m. Saturday.

She was wearing a dark hoodie when she got away with the undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say she and a man drove off in a dark colored, 4-door Ford Escort, but not before she appeared in the stores surveillance video.

Witnesses in the Canton Plaza shopping center noticed something else.

"The drivers license plate on the vehicle had been covered with a newspaper article to prevent anyone from seeing it", says Detective Shawn Gaddis.

Investigators think the man and woman are from the area.

Residents who shop at the local Goodwill store say theyre stunned.

"It was really a shock to know that somebody could stoop that low, to take stuff that's donated and it is here to help people," said Vicki Ball.

Detective Gaddis says the woman is in her mid-40s to early 50's with long dark hair. Witnesses describe the man as having blonde to brown hair with a mustache.

They were spotted about a half hour after the robbery on Sunset Circle in Canton.

If you have any information, call the Canton Police Department at (828) 648-2376.
